Travel Basketball • Boys

Overview

The Wheaton Park District Travel/ Feeder Basketball programs emphasize a higher level of competitiveness. Because this is a competitive travel basketball program, playing time is not guaranteed. Player progress during the season is strongly affected by player attendance, therefore, all practices and games have mandatory attendance. If everyone is on the same page, the team will be successful. This program is designed to help players progress as a player and as a person. The goal of this program is athletic development, safety, having fun, and honest competition.

Grades: 4-5 (Wheaton Vipers)

This program is offered to players in 4th-5th graders who are interested in playing basketball at a higher level. The season begins in October and runs until the beginning of March. This is a traveling program and playing time is not guaranteed. When paying the initial fee in order to tryout, you are acknowledging that you read and fully understand the waiver and release information, its importance, warning of risk and waiver, and release the Wheaton Park District of all claims for the entire season from October-March.

This program features 6th, 7th, and 8th grade teams per high school (Wheaton North and Wheaton Warrenville South) and emphasizes a higher level of competitiveness. Participants living north of Roosevelt Road make up the north teams, and participants living south of Roosevelt Road comprise the south teams. If you know that you’re not attending either high school, you do not qualify for this program as this is a feeder program for each school. This is a traveling program and playing time is not guaranteed. The season runs from October until end of March. When paying the initial fee in order to tryout, you are acknowledging that you have read and fully understand the waiver and release information, its importance, warning of risk and waiver, and release the Wheaton Park District of all claims for the entire season from October until the middle of March.
