This sport focuses on fundamental cheerleading skills with an emphasis on teamwork, safety and sportsmanship. Cheerleaders are expected to work as a team and attend two to four practices per week depending on age and ability level. The squads cheer at home and away Rams football games on Saturdays and Sundays starting in mid-August through the first week of November. We expect to cheer at a minimum of six games and participate in local competitions. Practices start July 1 and continue through the end of October. Practices are held at various park district approved parks and facilities in September and October at the discretion of the coaches. The registration fee includes the cost of the uniform; participants keep their uniform at the end of the season. Uniform styles and designs change from season to season. New participants must provide a copy of their birth certificate at uniform fittings in April. Cheerleaders must purchase shoes and socks; the purchase of spiritware is optional. Parental support of their child’s squad and coaches is necessary for the success of the program.
