Each year that Lacrosse has been offered by the Wheaton Park District, the program has grown leaps and bounds. After receiving overwhelming interest from residents the Wheaton Park District decided to create its own independent lacrosse program. With this move we are taking the next step in bringing you an educational and competitive lacrosse program to Wheaton.
The Wheaton Lacrosse program will field U9-U15 grade boy’s teams to compete in the True Lacrosse spring league and U9-U15 grade boys travel teams to compete in both the Illinois Youth Lacrosse Association (IYLA) spring travel leagues. Team rosters are finalized in late January 2016 to compete in the Spring 2016 season.
Evaluations are scheduled for January 9-10, 2016.
Players must come fully equipped to evaluations/tryouts.

Why are we starting early?
Based on the feedback from coaches and parents, we would like to provide the lacrosse program additional pre-season time for conditioning, skill development and team formation to better prepare our players for the spring season. While league games will not start until April, the select teams may enter optional spring tournaments. Overall, an earlier start provides a level playing field for our kids.
Lacrosse U9: Young players are introduced to lacrosse through fun drills, scrimmages, and contests that encourage player development. Teams practice twice a week, with contests on Saturdays and some Sundays. Teams’ coaches are assisted by college-age lacrosse players.
Lacrosse U11, U13, U15: An affordable lacrosse program that introduces basic skills, mechanics and game knowledge. Players practice twice a week with games on Saturday or Sunday. Teams participate in the ILYA Spring Lacrosse League. All games officiated by certified referees. Players receive a basic Wheaton Lacrosse jersey and shorts.
*Lacrosse Select U11-15: This program is open to experienced players with advanced skills and capabilities. We plan to form at least one team at each age group. If a player chooses to play on a select team, he will need to pay an additional fee at that time within two days of making the team. Practices are at least two days a week, and at least one games is scheduled each weekend, with the possibility of an occasional weekday games or second weekend games.
