Pursuing Victory With Honor
Wheaton Park District Boys Baseball and Girls Softball programs are sponsoring a program focused on building character in our young athletes.
Program Objectives
This program focuses on the T.E.A.M. method of building character.
- Teach Children that character counts
- Encourage The use of the six pillars of character
- Advocate Good Character
- Model Good Behavior
We are encouraging our coaches and athletes to focus
on the six pillars of character that most of the children have been introduced to in school:
- Trustworthiness
- Respect
- Responsibility
- Fairness
- Caring
- Citizenship
Program Overview
To encourage our athletes to live up to these principles we are providing a way to recognize players and teams from each league, that best lives up to these attributes.
• The coaching staff from each team will select two players from their own team that they feel best live up to the character counts attributes.
• The coaching staff from each team will also vote for the team in their league that they feel best lives up to the character counts attributes. They cannot vote for their own team.
At the end of the season each recipient, along with every member of the league, will invited to an end of the year event hosted by the Wheaton Park District. Dates and time of the event will be posted at later date.
