Information for Umpires
2013 Season
Training Sessions
The 2013 season will consist of 6 or more training sessions. The Wheaton Park District Youth Baseball and Softball Board of Control recommends first-year umpires attend four (4) training sessions, second and third-year umpires attend three (3) training sessions. Attendance is recorded, in order to receive attendance credit, one must stay for the entire session. Pay is based on skill, desire and ability and is not influenced by the league that is officiated.
Becoming a Patched Umpire
Individuals 17 and up desiring to become a patched umpire should contact the Illinois High School Association at http://www.ihsa.org for application information. I.H.S.A. umpires must renew their license every year. Patch umpires are to wear umpire shirt with proper patch displayed at all games.
Required Documents
- New Umpires: Complete and return New Umpire Packet and W-9
- Returning Umpires: Complete and return a Returning Umpire Packet
- Patched Umpires are required to complete and submit an application (New or Returning) and submit a copy of their Official Sport License in order to receive patched umpire pay.
All documents must be submitted no later than March 17, 2013*
